The wine is perfectly balanced with intense and concentrated fruit flavors that round out a rich opulent tannic structure.

Winemaking

The 2020 Vintage of Petit Verdot will never ever be forgotten. The wine presents with a subtle bouquet of flowers and sage that encompass a core of fresh blackberry, cranberry and plum that finishes round and rich for its fresh aromas. The vintage of 2020 was a huge frost year for us so the crop levels were low throughout the Estate. This wine has pronounced fresh fruit flavors and aromas which is the result of a shorter that typical maceration on the skins before being gently pressed off mid November of 2020. It was also aged for a shorter time of 9 months in 40% new French oak and 15% One year French Oak barrels undergoing only three rackings in that time (one rack after ML, one for blending and one into tank to bottle). Petit Verdot in our experience rejoices in new French oak that adds to the complexity and integration of the smooth and assertive tannins that fill the palate lingering into the long and sumptuous finish.
