This wine is made from the fruit of mass selection vines, in a vineyard planted in 1987 in Cerro Chapeu.

Growing Conditions

Cerro Chapeu, Rivera, Uruguay. At 250 meters above sea level. Continental climate with great thermal amplitude.

Soils of alluvial origin from volcanic materials washed over millions of years that formed very deep reddish sediments rich in iron, with great depth and increased drainage.

Harvest

Harvested by hand in 15 kg cases in February 2021 with optimal maturity.

Bottling

Estate bottled with minimal handling in October 2022.

Winemaking

Crushed over tanks with 50% whole berries. Maceration for 10 days at 20-22oC in open stainless steel tanks, pressing and finishing with spontaneous malolactic fermentation in barrels.

Aging

Aging for six months on lees in new French oak.
